Farm-to-Table at its Best! Totally Local VC "Dinner at the Avocado Orchard"

When great wine and foods are properly paired, something magical happens.  The food and wine enhance each other and thus turn a meal into a culinary experience.

 

This is what you can expect at this Thursday's "Dinner at the Avocado Orchard".  Now in its sixth season, the "Dinner at..." series supports local agricultural charities via proceeds from these dinners.  Set in amazing locations, these dinners pair the best chefs and wineries in Ventura County, much to the delight of those lucky enough to have purchased a ticket!

 

The dinner starts with an informal tasting of local wine, beer and liquors with passed appetizers.  People are seated and then the magic happens.  Each plate is paired with a different wine and then winery owner and chef get to discuss what each brings to the pairing.  And speaking of the pairings, I've pasted the menu below.  Hope to see you... at the Avocado Orchard!

Ventura Meat Company Spit Fire Roasted Jordi Chicken seasoned with Earls Gone Wild spice blend and glazed with Meyer Lemon and Habanero Marmalade on a bed of McGrath Family Farms Organic Baby Purple beans and Organic Baby Calabrese braised broccoli topped with Cummings Ranch Grilled Avocado quarters
